1. We are natural.
You may say, big deal! There are many natural companies! You are right. The problem is, many of those "natural" companies are not natural at all. If you see sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, mineral oil and parabens such as methyl-, ethyl-, propyl-, and butylparaben on the ingredients list-stay away...far away!

2. We are vegan.
We do not use animal by-products nor are the products tested on animals. About 90% of the cosmetic lines on the market use lanolin (sheep's wool extract), carmine (ground beetles), glycerine (pig fat) and tallow (cow fat) as cheap cosmetic fillers.

3. We don't use talc, titanium dioxide, bismuth oxychloride, or mica.
This is what makes Crush Groove Cosmetics even more special. Talc is used in most conventional makeup products but are least used in mineral makeup. Titanium dioxide and mica are used in about 99% of conventional and mineral makeup. Talc is a natural ingredient but it is linked to lung, ovarian, and testicular cancer and it also has traces of asbestos. Titanium dioxide, another natural ingredient, is also a lung irritant. Mica can be irritable to the skin and it creates an irridescent finish on the skin that is not flattering.

4. We give back to the community.
By purchasing Fair Trade ingredients, we are helping communities like in Africa by promoting fair wages for workers and eliminating abusive labor practices. CGC also provides free services for local non-profit organizations in the Harlem community.

5. We don't use hydrogenated oils.
Hydrogenated oils (trans fats) doesn't have nutritional value. If it is not healthy for your insides, why use it externally? Only organic cold pressed oils are used.

6. Our products promote healthy skin and healthy living.
Our products are not designed to make a quick buck, Crush Groove Cosmetics actually improves the quality of the skin without the bad health effects.

While other mineral makeup lines are charging over $40 for a small amount of pressed and loose titanium dioxide-mica-infused crappy powder, our foundation is $35 for a 1 ounce jar of pure goodness! No unecessary "mineral veils" are needed!

Jenique cares about the environment! Do not expect fancy schmacy packaging from us. Even though our mini spice jars are super duper cute, we focus on quality ingredients, not expensive labels and packaging supplies. Recycled material is used for our shipping labels and shipping supplies. Catalogs are available on CD, not paper;-)
